The Jobcenter München has set up several special teams to support you. This enables us to provide you with special advice, support and mediation. To this end, we work closely with the City of Munich, educational institutions, associations and other people who are also familiar with the labour market.
If you are under 25 years old and have not yet completed any apprenticeship, please speak to your employment agency about the possibilities of an apprenticeship. Finding the right apprenticeship or a suitable career is not easy. The job market is large and confusing. Many decisions have to be made, especially when you are new to working life.
We help you to discover your personal strengths and skills. Talk to us about your interests and tell us your plans so that we can help you find your dream job. Together, we will then set the course for your professional future.
Why is an apprenticeship the best way to start working life? Here are the three most important reasons:
1. Protection against unemployment:
People with an apprenticeship are much less likely to become unemployed than people without training. The unemployment rate of unskilled workers is three times higher than that of people with an apprenticeship.
2. The earnings are higher:
According to a recent study by the Institute for Employment Research (IAB), the earnings of people with an apprenticeship are 242,000 euros higher (over a lifetime).
3. Better promotion/training opportunities:
An apprenticeship offers you significantly better career opportunities. There are also more opportunities for further training, for example into a management position.
You can also receive important information here: Young people in education and employment (JiBB)
The JiBB – many questions, one place
The JiBB is the central point of contact for young people in Munich for all questions relating to apprenticeships, careers and studying. Such a central office that provides young people with competent advice and support – something that has been lacking in Munich until now. Although there have always been several different advice centres, they are spread throughout the city and belong to different organizations. And it is particularly helpful in the important phase of the transition from school to work to have a contact point where you can clarify all the important questions and get the right help. Against this background, various advisory institutions have joined forces and jointly developed the JiBB.
Unemployed parents sometimes need special support. Education and work must be reconciled: Everyday life has to be organized, the household has to be tidy, raising children is challenging and there has to be enough money to live on. Together with the City of Munich, we have offers that can help you organize your everyday life or childcare. Contact us!

The prerequisite for citizen’s income granted is the presentation of what is known as a “Fiktionsbescheinigung” (provisional residence document) or a residence title in accordance with Section 24 (1) of the Residence Act (AufenthG) and registration in the Central Register of Foreigners (AZR). Registration is carried out by the Kreisverwaltungsreferat (KVR) (district administration department).
