Around 5.9% of Munich’s citizens are currently unable to earn a living on their own and receive needs-oriented and individual support for integration into work from the Jobcenter München. To this end, we are pursuing a social community center concept (“Sozialbürgerhaus-Konzept”) that is unique in Germany. It incorporates the idea that Munich’s citizens can find the social services they need under one roof.
12 social community centers, the Center for Housing and Integration and the Specialist Center for Vocational Reintegration are spread across the city of Munich and are conveniently located. This enables us to provide our clients with an interdisciplinary point of contact close to home.
A social community center is divided into the area of work (jobcenter) and the area of social affairs (e.g. district social work, economic youth welfare or housing benefit). This leads to hand-in-hand, results-oriented cooperation, which guarantees competent support for our clients. The concept also safeguards the idea of support and encouragement and offers immediate assistance in emergency situations.
The basis of the cooperation ist the jointly adopted concept of the social community centers of the City of Munich .
